ABOUT JOEL CLARK

My love of Motorsport and anything on wheels, stretches back to childhood and fortunately growing up nearby to Silverstone.

Upon leaving school, I took a YTS job designing and making vinyl stickers for race teams, with a Sign Maker based at the Silverstone circuit. It was here - in 1990 - where I learnt the skill of hand-cutting vinyl.

Shortly after starting the job though, I decided to go to art college. Six years later, after graduating from Central St Martins, I worked as a Creative in some of the world’s biggest ad agencies and since leaving advertising in 2015, I have now gone full-circle and returned to the unique skills learned back at Silverstone; by again hand-cutting vinyl. Only now to create artworks of classic road and racing cars.

From my research so far, I believe I am the only automotive artist in the world using hand-cut vinyl as a medium and therefore my artwork has a truly unique 'finish' of that of the real car I'm depicting. The results are bright, bold Pop Art artworks that will deliver a punch of color to any space.

In the very short time I have been creating vinyl artworks, I have been featured in, or collaborated with: The Road Rat; Motorsport magazine; Classic and Sports Car; Petrolicious.com; Porsche Club America; Octane; Classic Driver; The Week; Hedge; Pistonheads; Cars Yeah... to name but a few.
